PSYCHOTHERAPIST FOR
WOMEN AND COUPLES

I offer meetings on FaceTime, WhatsApp, Zoom, or phone. I am currently accepting new patients.
How are you doing today?

I am a psychotherapist in Newton, MA, in private practice. Empowering women and couples has long been my specialty; empathizing as they adjust to new and challenging life changes such as the beginning or loss of a relationship, frustrating personal, spousal and family circumstances, and job upheaval. I have over 40 years' experience meeting with women and couples of all backgrounds, orientations, and ages — from young adults in their 20's and 30's to people in their 70's and 80's.

We are responsible for our own joy.

I am particularly interested in raising self-esteem, nurturing independence, encouraging healthy relationships, and helping navigate loss and change in the context of people's current life situations. As a therapist, I help people become increasingly comfortable with who they naturally are. Independence for both members of a couple is an important issue; I want to assist individuals in knowing how to define and create their own personal fulfillment.

My approach is interactive and eclectic.

The people I see are authorities on their feelings. I am here to guide them in their search, with the awareness that I cannot tell a person more about who they are than they can determine themselves.
After over 40 years of exploring people's lives, the question I like to ask is, "How are you doing today?"
Here are some paradoxes of life I have noticed:

That the way down is the path to rebuilding self esteem.

To be low is to gather one’s strength together.
That the broken heart holds the image of a healed heart.
That the sorry spirit imagines finding goodness in oneself.
That growth, joy, and fulfillment often arise not from avoiding hardship or weakness but from embracing them and finding meaning, healing, and a personal sense of grace through the process.
